“Immersive Phygital” Media Creative Keynote

In recent years, creative digital media has been experimenting with a deep transformation. From the first on-screen graphics to the latest pixel-mapping installations, audiovisual languages have exceeded the square boundaries of traditional screens -even beyond video-projection-, and have started colonizing physical space.

Light and sound are playing a key role in this evolution, and the interlink between engineering, music, design and art is giving birth to innovative approaches in the form of spatial installations. Spectators are no longer passive subjects, but main characters inside the creative canvas.

On this keynote, the Barcelona based artist duo Playmodes (Eloi Maduell and Santi Vilanova), establish a conversation around this topic of immersive phygital (physical+digital) media, exemplified by their latest projects and developments. They will insight deeply into their custom software and hardware, their visual music composition approach, and their community based open-source philosophy.
