A Breeze Of Serenity:Elvis Mok Tea Room Calligraphy Exhibition
Navy Yard No.2, 2F, Barra District Macau
Free
This exhibition is a practice of contemporary lifestyle aesthetics by poet and calligrapher Elvis (Mok Heisa). Turning the venue into a tea room, the exhibition arranges calligraphic works and tea settings in a staggered layout, creating a quiet realm of “mist and clouds”. Ying Jyut’s work emphasizes the “sense of living”. Rather than rigid discipline, he prefers to capture the quiet, fleeting moments of daily life, transforming the spirit of the tea ceremony— “harmony,” “respect,” “purity”, and “tranquility” into lively, spontaneous brushstrokes. Here, calligraphy is no longer an esoteric traditional art, but a warm force that permeates daily living.
Elvis (Mok Heisa) is a poet and calligrapher. He currently serves as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Faculty of Arts and Design of Macao Polytechnic University, a member of the Calligraphers Committee of the Federation of Associations of Cultural Sectors of Macau, and a member of the Council of the Macau Artist Society.
In 2002, he co-founded “Macao Outersky Poet Association”, Macao’s first online poetry group. He received the “Top Ten” award at the Macao Visual Arts Annual Exhibition twice (2008 and 2025) and has been selected multiple times for the Macao Calligraphy and Painting Joint Exhibition and the Macao Visual Arts Annual Exhibition. His calligraphic style is diverse, with his inscriptions appearing in exhibitions, album covers, publications, television programs, films, and branded merchandise.
In 2014, inspired by his encounter with the tea ceremony, he turned his writing style to minimalist wordings inspired by the essence of daily life. He is the author of three-line poetry collections including 《日子過得空白一點也不錯 邢悅三行詩》《喜歡一切悄然降臨》and《伴》.
