[Macau, July 4, 2026] Organised by the District Development Center of the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macao, the \u201cStay Wild Festival 2026 \u2013 World Cup Series\u201d continued today with the opening of the Barra District at 5 p.m., following its successful mid-June launch at the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards District and the Former Iec Long Firecracker Factory District, marking the Center\u2019s first series of activities connecting three districts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In collaboration with adidas and Be-1, the District Development Center presents the Barra District program under the theme \u201cFootball Lifestyle,\u201d bringing football into everyday life through World Cup-themed installations and exhibitions, and creating a cultural gathering point unique to Macao. The Barra District has also specially invited Macao designer Jin Lio to incorporate World Cup motifs and historical elements of Barra Pond into the event\u2019s key visual and exhibition zone design, while launching limited-edition IP figures and souvenirs. Through this collaboration, the event supports local creative talent and promotes commercial and community partnerships for local IP with international brands.<\/p>\n\n\n

Guests attending the opening ceremony included Wu Chenhao, Level IV Principal Staff Member of the Social Development Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office; Mai Pang, Advisor to the Office of the Secretary for Economy and Finance; Cheong In Fong, Acting Head of the Promotion of Activities and International Relations Division of the Macao SAR Government Sports Bureau; Chan Ka Leong, Chairman of the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau;Lei Cheok Kuan, President of the Industrial and Commercial Federation of Central and Southern District of Macao; Cheang Kong Pou, Member of the Executive Committee of Teledifus\u00e3o de Macau, S.A.;Ngan Iek Hang, Assistant General Manager of Bank of China (Macau Branch); Lin Zhehao, General Manager of Corporate Banking Department I of Tai Fung Bank; Mina Siew, Director of Community Relations of MGM; and Chang Chin Nam, Vice President of Macao Football Association, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening day at Barra District featured a dynamic line-up of street culture and sports performances, including Hip Hop dance by a Hong Kong street dance crew, freestyle football showcases, setting the tone for the district programme through football and urban culture. Navy Yard No. 1 has also been transformed into the adidas FIFA World Cup\u2122 Pop-Up Store, featuring a selection of World Cup products and limited-edition children\u2019s jerseys. Meanwhile, the bamboo-scaffolded space outside Navy Yard No. 2 has been reimagined as a mini stadium exhibition zone, showcasing national team jerseys sponsored by adidas and offering football jersey enthusiasts a dedicated photo spot.<\/p>\n\n\n

During the festival period, the Barra District will join hands with the Macao Football Association to present a football jersey exhibition, while hosting U8 and U10 youth football invitational tournaments every week to support the development of local football. The organiser will also host the \u201cWorld Cup Pet Walk\u201d on 18 and 19 July, inviting dog owners and their furry companions to take to the runway in World Cup jerseys, echoing the district\u2019s pet-friendly concept. The venue will also feature three co-branded football challenge booths, together with limited World Cup-themed light bites created in collaboration with local food and beverage brands, enriching the interactive experience for residents and visitors. In addition, a live screening will be held on the day of the World Cup Final, inviting the public to experience the excitement and atmosphere of the final match together. The organiser has also partnered with Bank of China (Macau) and Tai Fung Bank to launch a district-wide spending lucky draw. Members of the public who make a single transaction of MOP300 or above at any of the three districts using the \u201cBOC Macau Mobile Banking\u201d app will be eligible to participate in the Grand Lucky Draw. In addition, visitors who accumulate spending of MOP300 or above within the Barra District may present their transaction records at the designated event booth for verification, then access the \u201cTai Fung Life\u201d WeChat Mini Program through the NFC tap function on their mobile phones to register for the instant online lucky draw. In addition, the concurrent Spending Rewards Campaign will continue until 19 July, connecting around 300 designated merchants across the three districts displaying the \u201cParticipating Merchant\u201d signage, and offering instant discounts and parking privileges to further enhance the consumption atmosphere across the districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cStay Wild Festival 2026 \u2013 World Cup Series\u201d will run across all three districts until 19 July. Activities at the Former Iec Long Firecracker Factory District will take place from Fridays to Sundays, while activities at the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards District will take place on Saturdays and Sundays. The Barra District will be open for 16 consecutive days from 4 to 19 July. Admission is free.
