Chan Ka Leong, Chairman of The General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau, stated that they are currently working diligently to plan events for the six districts. After the planning is completed in March or April, more events are expected to be launched starting in May. The aim is to showcase the unique history, culture, cuisine, and specialty products of each district according to the plan. The initial plan is to attract distinctive shops through investment promotion, while also delving into the history and culture of the six districts. For example, the relationship between A-Ma Tong and the ocean, temple culture, and the relationship between Coloane Lai Chi Vun and the coast, shipbuilding industry, and environmental protection. The plan also includes collaborating with the cultural sector to publish books or promoting the creation of exclusive IP-based cultural and creative products to attract visitors to the districts and stimulate surrounding consumption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/ddcmacao.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2405\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ddcmacao.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image.png 800w, https:\/\/ddcmacao.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/ddcmacao.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-768x576.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Chan Ka Leong mentioned that in addition to showcasing the history and culture of each area, there are also plans to combine festivals and Macau’s unique intangible cultural heritage projects to systematically present related activities in each area, including dragon and lion dances for the Lunar New Year, lantern riddles for the Mid-Autumn Festival, Qixi Festival, as well as the Drunken Dragon Dance and the Earth God Festival.
