With the Year of the Horse approaching, joy is arriving at Barra! To celebrate the Chinese New Year, MGM, together with OFFSIDE CONCEPT, is presenting a festive programme of events in the Barra district — the “Barra New Year Market” — bringing together more than 80 trend, lifestyle, and cultural brands to create a vibrant gathering place filled with festive spirit and local warmth for residents and visitors alike.

This event draws on the historical character of Barra District and takes inspiration from the Year of the Horse, blending retro style with Macao humour. From nostalgic booth games, handwritten fai chun, festive handicrafts, coffee and food, to a trend-forward market, it combines style with good fortune, weaving retro trends and playful auspicious elements into everyday experiences so that people of all generations can enjoy a Macao-style New Year that feels close to daily life.

During the event, MGM will also launch the “Auspicious Lion Brings Blessings” paper-cut cultural and creative collection in collaboration with the Prince Kung’s Palace Museum. The Italian character “BERTILO” will also return, joining local original Macao IPs including Paper Windmill and UNDERDOG to create a series of Lunar New Year-themed public art installations. Through the exchange of international artistic perspectives and local creativity, the event brings a strong festive atmosphere to the district.
